About eTendering
eTendering is Australia's largest gateway to NSW Government tenders. There is a difference between eTendering and our Supplier Hub. The two platforms coexist, and accounts are linked.
What is eTendering?
eTendering is a procurement platform accessed through buy.nsw.
eTendering lists upcoming, current and closed business opportunities that have been provided by agencies. NSW Government buyers use eTendering to create and advertise current market opportunities such as tenders, contracts and schemes. They can also invite suppliers to respond.
Schemes are lists of suppliers from which government agencies can seek proposals or quotes. You do not need to be a scheme member to sell to government.
How do Supplier Hub and eTender differ
We are transforming NSW Government procurement.
Supplier Hub is a single digital service that shares information across systems. It is a complete list of all registered suppliers and a dashboard providing suppliers with access to all procurement related actions.
eTendering and Supplier Hub are linked. Supplier Hub allows suppliers to register to sell and buyers to research and find suppliers. eTendering is where opportunities are published and buyers can invite suppliers to respond.
Information provided by supplier in Supplier Hub is shared with eTendering. Access to eTendering is via Supplier Hub.
Linking your supplier accounts
Creating a new supplier account in Supplier Hub gives you access to eTendering. This allows you to respond to opportunities, apply for schemes and manage notifications for opportunities.
If you are a current eTendering user, you will have to link your account with Supplier Hub before being able to log in. You will then be able to use both services.
To link your account go the Supplier Hub login page and follow the instructions to generate the invitation email. Once you receive the email click follow the instructions to set up and link your accounts. You can read our quick start guide for more information and advice.
We know that you value convenience. Any information you provide in your supplier registration and profile that is required for scheme application or when responding to an opportunity will automatically be pre-populated, dramatically reducing the time and requirements.
Any schemes that you are a member of will automatically be listed on your supplier profile and visible to buyers.
Note for buyers
Activities including creating and advertising an opportunity, managing a scheme and disclosing contracts remain on eTendering.
You can use Supplier Hub to gather information about suppliers that will help you determine which approach is best suited to your circumstances.
Often, how you approach a supplier will depend on the type of transaction. For smaller transactions, you may be able to enter into an agreement without the need to go to market.
For larger transactions, you will still need to go to market in most instances. Please contact the procurement team in your organisation for guidance specific to your situation.
